CLIENT - Homegrown Cedar Products

PROJECT - Advertising, Art Direction, Branding, Label, Marketing, Package, Print, Signage, Social Media, Web, UX, UI
DESCRIPTION - Homegrown Cedar products was a client that had just launched their line in large retailers, such as Lowes and Walmart, thanks to their account with Legacy Global Llc. I was asked to elevate their brand and associated marketing to meet the specific requirements and expectations of these large retailers. The company was based in an Amish community out of Ohio and simply asked that I incorporate a cedar tree and wooden covered barn bridge in their logo design. Now before we go much further, please know that one of the largest challenges with this account was maintaining open communication with an Amish community that has many technology restrictions and does not utilize most common business luxuries such as email or cell phones. After organizing and establishing an efficient communication process with the client, we moved forward with design and branding efforts. Understanding the amount of packaging and label production this company would encounter, I developed their logo concept in a single color process and provided an alternative two color process after a design had been selected. This was an important step to help the client understand that they needed to be confident with a functional single color design choice since production costs were inevitably going to be a consideration in the future. After completion of the logo design process, I set in on establishing a brand strategy and developing guidelines for the image mark and nameplate since they were going to be used in production of labels, packaging and imprinted on products. Following completion of the first production order I began establishing a design system for the client, sourcing images and establishing a library of customized callout icons for marketing, advertising and future design projects.
