CLIENT - The Grounds Bookstore & Café

PROJECT - Art Direction, Branding, Print, Signage, Social Media
DESCRIPTION - The Grounds Bookstore & Café was a fast-paced rebranding project because the client immediately fell in love with the initial vision I presented. The Grounds had already utilized a coffee cup in their original branding but they wanted to simultaneously emphasize the bookstore aspect of their business. My vision was to take the two concepts and illustrate them into a simple image mark that would be subtle but still resonate with its audience. I revised the design of the coffee cup to fit the scope of the new logo design, added an open book in place of the coffee sleeve, and revised their colors to assume  a more sophisticated personality. These small but effective revisions allowed the Grounds to more clearly communicate the dual aspects of their business and establish a brand strategy that they could grow with. Since the launch of the new brand, I have further expanded on the brand implementation by adding "The Grounds Express" and "The Grounds Loft" sub-marks as well as several designs for digital menu displays, social media and print applications.
